It costs NAD23,500 a year (USD 3,060, GBP 2,000) to monitor and protect each rhino through individual recognition

SRT patrols and monitors throughout the rhino range of 27 000 sq km and has done so for the past 27 years. This has enabled this desert-adapted black rhino population to more than treble its numbers whereas other populations in Africa are dwindling. The Trust’s patrol and monitoring efforts utilize a combination of vehicles, camels, aircraft and foot patrols.

To accomplish the aims of the Trust’s current strategic plan 2008-2012 (see Our Programmes – Overview) you can help in any many ways, for example:

  • Schools - classes or entire school:
Can you gather together friends and classmates to help sponsor a rhino?
How about challenging a class in another school to meet or better your sponsorship?
  • Families
  • Corporate or individual

With any sponsorship you will receive a photograph of your rhino suitable for framing, a blog updating his/her progress, and a certificate of sponsorship. You will also be recognised on the SRT website as a sponsor.

Please help

Since we are a local, field-based, non-governmental organisation, we rely entirely upon charitable donations from our generous supporters worldwide to carry out our work to conserve Nambia’s desert-adapted black rhinos. Although our hard work has significantly contributed towards the tripling of black rhino numbers in Namibia over the last two decades, we still have a long, arduous road ahead of us to reach our long-term goals for rhino conservation in Namibia. We welcome any contribution and thank you in advance for your support to help secure the world’s last truly wild black rhino population.

You can help us by:

  • Making a monetary donation
  • Making an annual pledge
  • Corporate Membership (contact Karen Taylor-Moffett for more details)
  • Donating new or used equipment such as computers, cameras, binoculars, GPS
  • Helping to organize a local fund raiser for SRT
  • Corporate donations: check if your company matches employee donations to charitable organizations!
  • Telling a friend about SRT’s work

To make a charitable donation, please contact us for more information.
